Vita

Sebastian Seifert initially received his academic training in church music and vocal pedagogy at the University of Catholic Church Music and Music Education in Regensburg. This was followed by two advanced Master’s programmes at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna: instrumental (vocal) pedagogy (classical singing) and historical performance practice. He completed these with academic theses on the art of vocal ornamentation in the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as a critical edition of Luca Antonio Predieri’s Festa di Camera per Musica ‘Il Sogno di Scipione’.

Since April 2025, Sebastian Seifert has been working as a research assistant on the DFG project “Imitation in the Early Modern Mass” at the University of Heidelberg. For his doctoral thesis, he is researching the theme of the Immaculate Conception of Mary in settings of the Ordinarium Missae in the 16th century.
