Vita
Marcel Klinke studied musicology and German language and literature at the Universities of Greifswald (BA) and Hamburg (MA); in 2022, he completed his PhD with a thesis on the earliest works of Richard Strauss at the University of Greifswald. Following positions as a research associate on the DFG funded projects ‘The Earliest Works of Richard Strauss’ at the University of Greifswald and ‘Computer-Assisted Analysis of Harmonic Structures’ at Saarland University, he has been employed as a postdoctoral researcher at Heidelberg University since November 2023, initially on the project ‘Music about Music. Imitation in the Early Modern Mass‘, with which he remains associated as part of his habilitation, and since April 2025 as a research associate/assistant of Prof. Dr Christiane Wiesenfeldt. Since 2025, he has been leading a project on the digitisation and cataloguing of the musical estate of Anton Friedrich Justus Thibaut (1772–1840).
