About us

Welcome to the Department of Musicology at the University of Heidelberg! On these pages we would like to introduce you to the teaching staff, the secretary's office and the library. Our student council also welcomes your interest.


The Department of Musicology at the University of Heidelberg is a strong research center. Here we inform you about current and completed research projects and about current and past dissertation and habilitation projects at our department. We are home to the editorial office of the musicological journal DIE TONKUNST. Together with the Department of Musicology of the Institute of Art History and Musicology at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, we also organize the annual research colloquium Music before 1600.
