Dr. Esther Dubke

Esther Dubke pursued her studies in musicology at the universities of Münster (B.A.) and Hamburg (M.A.), earning her doctorate from the University of Hamburg in 2020 with a dissertation titled Orlando di Lassos Messen in den Münchner Chorbüchern. Ordinariumsvertonung zwischen Tradition und Neuordnung. She subsequently held various positions as a research associate, lecturer, and fellow at HU Berlin, the University of the Arts Bremen, and the University of Music Franz Liszt Weimar. In October 2024, she joined the University of Heidelberg, initially serving as a postdoctoral research associate funded by the spokesperson's budget of the CRC 1671 "Home(s): Phenomena, Practices, Representations" and as an interim lecturer for Christiane Wiesenfeldt. As of October 2026, she continues her work at the institute as her chair assistant. Her primary research interests lie in the fields of music historiography and philology.
